CHASE McCAY

 

CHASE McCAY is a 20-year-old composer, arranger, engraver, trumpeter, and conductor from Austin, Texas. His compositions, which often focus on broad human stories and artistic explorations of the natural world, have secured numerous performances with ensembles ranging from chamber groups to full symphony orchestras.

He has been commissioned to write for multiple secondary schools, placed as a finalist in the Austin Symphony’s Texas Young Composers Competition, and was the first college freshman to have a work premiered with the University of Texas Symphony Orchestra in the 2021-2022 UTSO Concerto Competition. Chase studies music composition at the University of Texas at Austin, and has been mentored by Dr. Donald Grantham, Dr. Alyssa Weinberg, and Dr. Russell Podgorsek.
