REBECCA NISCO (b. 1997) was raised in Wilton, CT. She started studying piano at the age of 5 and soon after started composing. Storytelling through her music was, and remains, the core of her inspiration for composition, whether it is through works for the concert hall, the theatre, or multimedia projects. Before studying composition at The Catholic University of America, Rebecca mostly composed works for piano and orchestra; however, she now additionally enjoys composing for choral ensembles, chamber orchestras, and solo voice/instruments. As a pianist and singer, Rebecca also enjoys performing and has performed all over Connecticut and the DC area, including with the LA Philharmonic under the direction of Gustavo Dudamel at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Rebecca graduated in May with a BM in Composition and a minor in the Culture of Western Civilization and is currently continuing her studies at The Royal of Music in London in their Master of Music in Composition for Screen program.
In the summer of 2017, Rebecca scored her first short film, Don’t Panic, written and directed by Robert Reif. She also attended NYU’s Film Scoring Workshop in the Summer of 2018 where she learned from composers Mark Snow and Michael Levine and had her piece, Tomorrow, recorded by the Prague Orchestra. She will continue her work in composition for screen not only through the Royal College of Music in London, but also scoring thesis films by both NYU and Catholic University students this summer.

Rebecca has also had extensive experience in musical theatre as a music director and pit musician. Most recently, her new musical Our Man Harry, premiered in Washington, D.C. by CUA CenterStage Theatre Company. She has also composed an underscore for CenterStage’s production of Pink Mist (2016).
