SIHYUN UHM is attending Eastman School of Music in New York, studying with David Liptak and Vincent Lentir. She graduated from Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Massachusetts, studying composition with Whitman Brown and piano with Mana Tokuno from New England Conservatory. SiHyun was born in Seoul, Korea where she went to Yewon School. Her compositions have been recognized by audiences around the world, having won many renowned competitions and performing in various concert halls.
SiHyun is a fellow composer of Intimacy of Creativity. She has been awarded from NY Composers' Circle, ASCAP, NextNotes, National YoungArts, Golden Key Festival, the Avalon Competition, MTNA, and the CBS National Youth Competition. She has been featured in the magazine "International Piano", and her music has been played on several radio stations in the Netherlands and the United States.
SiHyun is currently active as a composer, conductor, and pianist. She always endeavors to write music that connects with audiences and herself. She has composed for both the concert world and various multimedia projects (including films and commercials), as well as releasing her first album in 2017. As a conductor, she has been recognized by the Quincy Symphony Orchestra, Music World Competition, and several choir competitions. As a pianist, she performed Prokofiev's Piano Concerto no. 2 with the Quincy Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed in Graz Hall (Vienna); the Walnut Hill Award Ceremony; Rockport Concert Hall; CCPA Concert Hall in Chicago, Illinois; the NEC Contemporary Festival; Juventas New Music Ensemble; Houston Museum District; Hatch Hall; Perigee Hall; Seoul, Korea; and more.
